Butter Chicken Meets Beyoncé

November 30, 2025 Vikram Leave a Comment

Description: A Delhi eatery rebrands its butter chicken after Beyoncé and the Internet approves.

In the latest sign that Delhi’s culinary creativity is being fueled not by chefs but by Instagram trends and the need to go viral faster than a WhatsApp forward from your auntie, a small eatery in Rajouri Garden has gone full Bey-hive. Say hello to “Slayoncé Butter Chicken” — a dish so extra, Beyoncé herself might pause her world tour just to investigate.

Apparently, the eatery owner “felt a divine inspiration” (read: saw a reel that got 1.2 million views) and decided to name their latest creamy creation after the Queen B. The butter chicken, served in a gold-plated bowl with edible glitter and a side of sweet potato fries (because who needs authenticity when you have aesthetics?), comes with a background track of “Crazy in Love” playing every time it’s brought to the table. Yes, the waiters are also wearing sequined gloves. And no, we are not making this up.

Now before the purists cry foul and declare this an insult to both Mughlai tradition and global music royalty, may I remind you of the K-pop inspired “BTS Biryani” that took Lajpat Nagar by storm last month? We are living in the golden age of rebranding. If Starbucks India can rename its smallest coffee “Mini Maharaja Macchiato,” then frankly, all bets are off.

To be fair, the butter chicken is delicious. Creamy, not too sweet, with a fiery kick of chili that reportedly represents the “independent woman” spirit Beyoncé embodies. It’s unverified whether this dish sings back at you when you eat it, but at the price of ₹899 a plate, it better at least whisper “you’re flawless” with each bite.

Of course, this latest trend has sparked a ripple effect. Kareena Kapoor Parathas, Elon Musk Masala Dosas, and even Shahrukh Samosas have popped up within 5 kilometers like inspired food doppelgängers. Because why settle for plain food when your meal can moonwalk onto the table and deliver a Ted Talk?

In times when the world is filled with too many serious things, if naming butter chicken after an international icon brings a few laughs, a few Instagram likes, and a full stomach, then who are we to judge? Just remember to chew between selfies.
